Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
