Homages Flow for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to express about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the production, remarking that he could not remember "any day without joy".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.

A court order placed a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

After the deaths, public individuals offered divergent responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making controversial claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the critics last week. Speaking on his program, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser ought to have acted when the decision to comment on the tragedy was made.
