Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
