The incident caused the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
